Ken Fortier was raised in West Michigan, and he has been connected to this community all his life.
He was born in Tampa, Florida, and was baptized Catholic at MacDill Air Force Base while his father was serving the Nation.
The family moved to Grand Rapids when he was a baby. Ken grew up here in this community with his three siblings, all of whom still reside in the area.
He graduated from Catholic Central in 1985 and went on to earn a bachelors degree from Davenport University.
Ken worked at Grand Rapids Community College in information technology, and later he accepted a position as Manager of Telecommunications at Donnelly Corporation in Holland.
There, Ken adeptly managed hundreds of complex international projects.
In 2003 he founded Quantum Leap Communications, growing the company through servant leadership and a strong passion for connections to community.
After ten successful years in business, he sold Quantum Leap and published his book NetPlus Connections.
In it, he teaches how to harness the power of personal connections to
solve problems in both business and in life.
Additionally, Ken has worked with numerous non-profit organizations in a fund-raising capacity.
He is particularly passionate about Kids' Food Basket, and he has spear-headed the development of one of their most successful events, their annual golf outing. Ken is proud that this event now consistently raises enough to feed an entire school for a year.
Ken also mentors many members of our community, from youth to successful business leaders.
He advises them and connects them to opportunities, enabling them to reach their goals and fulfill their potential.
Ken has raised children into adulthood and now is blessed with the love of two energetic five-year-olds and their amazing mother.
